Following hot on the heels of CakePHP 1.3.0-RC1, the CakePHP development team is happy to announce the release the CakePHP 1.3.0-RC2.

The CakePHP development team is happy to announce the release the CakePHP 1.3.0-RC1. Since 1.3-beta was released we've been hard at work implementing new features and fixing issues in existing features in the 1.3 branch. There have been over 165 commits, and more than 75 tickets resolved.

A recent posting by Felix Geisendörfer of Debuggable[1] has resulted in some concerns amongst the CakePHP[2] community after payment disputes for the venue from CakeFest Berlin 2009. The Cake Software Foundation[3] would like to assure all developers and users of the CakePHP framework that the status and direction of the framework remains unchanged.

The first officially supported CakePHP plugins (Localized and Datasources) developed by the community and the core developers have released their first public release version 0.2.

With the development of 1.3 and 2.0 well underway the CakePHP team has taken some time to re-evaluate and reconsider some of the tools we use as a team and as a community. Recently, CakePHP has undergone several changes, such as switching from Subversion to Git, and switching from trac to the current code.cakephp.org issue tracker. Each of these changes has brought change helping the community and project grow.

There seems to be a bit of confusion as to what version of PHP will be supported in what CakePHP releases, and where to find which projects on http://code.cakephp.org/projects. Hopefully, this post will help answer any questions you may have.

The CakePHP development team is happy to announce the release of two new versions. Firstly, CakePHP 1.2.4[1] is a bug fix release of the latest stable branch. Check the changelog[2] for all the changes. Also, we have made CakePHP 1.3.0-dev[3] available for download.

I am happy to announce another release of CakePHP 1.2. CakePHP 1.2.3.8166[1] includes several bug fixes and most importantly a security fix. To understand the security issue please have a look at Ticket #6336[2]. While this may not affect every installation of Cake, we do recommend that everyone take the time to upgrade their applications. Also, note that there was a bug in Paginator related to changing directions on sorting that is now fixed. For a complete list of changes, please look at the changelog[3].

CakePHP still rising!

We are excited to announce the release of CakePHP 1.2.2.8120[1]. The latest stable release fixes several bugs including a security issue with paginator links. While this issue should only affect a small number of people, we highly recommend everyone upgrade to this stable version. We do not expect any incompatibilities with your current code, but as always check out the changelog[2] to see all the issues that were fixed

The response to CakePHP 1.2 Final has been amazing. In less than a month, we have seen over 40,000 downloads. These numbers go along nicely with the 2000+ users who grab the svn version. We cannot thank everyone enough for continuing to support the project.

It's finally here: the final release before the final release of CakePHP 1.2.

We are excited to announce the first workshop for CakePHP. We have worked with Debuggable to come up with a schedule that will cover many of the features in CakePHP. The schedule is unique in that it also provides for adhoc sessions alongside the scheduled talks. We will be happy to see people strolling in and out of every session, sharing their experiences, and learning in a collaborative and open environment.

We hope that the sessions provide developers at all levels an opportunity to experience CakePHP. We expect everyone who attends the workshop to walk away with a better understanding of the CakePHP internals and how to maximize the automagic in CakePHP.

The release of CakePHP 1.2RC2 [1] with several bug fixes and optimizations brings more speed and stability to the 1.2 series. Check out the changelog[2] for the modifications that went into this release. As promised previously deprecated methods were removed and others received errors to be triggered. We left the findAll, findCount, etc methods alone but still recommend that you change to the new find('all'), find('count'), etc syntax. Otherwise, you'll see that its mostly bug fixes in the changelog, so upgrading should be as smooth and easy as replacing your "cake"

On April 15 2005, the first version of Cake was released by Michal Tatarynowicz. On April 15, 2008, three years from this auspicious day and the start of this great project, the project continued to evolve, ensuring that CakePHP will grow and prosper for years to come.

Here in the US, the national holiday of Super Sunday has brought more than just the Super Bowl.

We are hoping 2007 will be another great year for CakePHP. We started things off right with the release of version 1.2. Many feature improvements keep us moving forward in our quest to make developing with Cake even easier.

Everyone loves gifts. So, we have CakePHP 1.1.12.4205[1] and 1.2.0.4206_dev[2] packaged and available on CakeForge. CakePHP 1.1.12.4205 is a bug fix release for the stable branch. Read the changelog[3] for more information on what has been updated. CakePHP 1.2.0.4206_dev is the next major version with several new features. This is a development release so not all the features are finalized and additional changes are almost guaranteed. We have been running the Bakery and most of the CakePHP sites on the 1.2 branch, and have also heard of some people using it with some success.

Well, its not often that you can take something out of the freezer and have it taste better than before, but that's what happened. We received a few more bugs and as Gwoo said in a message last week, speed was an issue. So, with the bugs that came in, we spent some time making things work a bit faster. While speed differences may vary based on your system, we noticed a nice increase[1].

Anytime new information comes out about CakePHP, we do our best to respond and share our knowledge for the betterment of the community. Recently some new benchmarks were created to help guide us on our way. Thanks to Paul M. Jones for the effort to put them together.
